Dr. Amala served as the Secretary General of the Emirates Medical Association ObGyn in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Her leadership played a pivotal role in elevating the standard of care and promoting best practices in the field. Currently, Dr. Amala holds the position of Specialist Ob/Gyn at Prime Healthcare Group, a role she has held since 2007. Her expertise and compassionate care have earned her a reputation for excellence in the medical community, making her a trusted healthcare provider for her patients.
Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Amala has held specialist positions at several esteemed healthcare institutions. Her tenure included serving as a Specialist Ob/Gyn at the International Modern Hospital and Medcare Hospital. In the early stages of her career, she distinguished herself as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist at the International Private Hospital. Dr. Amala academic journey has been marked by exceptional achievements. She earned her M.B.B.S with distinction in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Lokamanya Tilak Municipal Medical College, Sion Mumbai, affiliated with the University of Mumbai. Her outstanding performance placed her fourth in the university and first in her college. Continuing her academic pursuits, she achieved a D.G.O from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mumbai, with distinction. Later, in January 2004, Dr. Amala earned her M.D. from Sir J.J group of Hospitals and Grant Medical college, affiliated with Mumbai University. Her dedication to practical excellence earned her the first position in her college and a notable third position in the University.
Dr. Amala dedication to excellence and continuous learning is evident in her extensive postgraduate training and certifications. In 2022, she was conferred with the FICOG (Fellowship of the Indian College Of Obstetrics and Gynecology), further solidifying her expertise. A strong advocate of Cervical Cancer awareness, Program (CCAP) Dr Amala, spearheaded the initiative ‘’Prevention is better than Cure’’ in Dubai for over three months from January to March 2012 and continues with her efforts. She has to date engaged corporates, teachers, university students, home makers and given over 48 lectures educating the community on cervical cancer. Cervical cancer can be prevented with vaccinations and Dr. Amala successfully got nearly 3000 women vaccinated at subsidized rates in UAE. As a result of her awareness campaign, over 900 plus cases of cervical cancer was detected and treated. She is a staunch follower of goal of attaining WHO goal of eradication of cervical cancer from the earth by 2030. One country at a time!
