Hair Restoration – Restoring What You Have Lost

When you’re faced with male pattern baldness it can be quite embarrassing. Not all guys take to having the shiny top like some do. For those men, hair restoration can be a viable solution.

Bald heads are a common sight among men. Some go bald later in life while others go bald very early. While most of the time this is a genetic trait, known as male pattern baldness, for others it’s the result of illness or treatment of an illness. No matter if it’s just a genetic thing or a result of being sick there is something that you can do about it. Hair restoration is a common practice and can give you back what genetics took away.

Hair Restoration - Restoring What You Have Lost

Hair restoration is a relatively simple procedure that uses your own hair to fill in the thinning spots. What the doctors will do is take a section from the back of your head, which often has more follicles, and place them on the top, where it is usually thinning. The new transplant will then continue to grow, filling in the spots and giving you the look that you once had. Since it is real, you will be able to do what you would normally do as far as washing and trimming.
There are a few things you should know before getting hair restoration. For starters the newly transplanted follicles will shed at first. This does not mean that the procedure wasn’t a success; on the contrary it is simply the way it grows. You don’t notice it normally but you shed all the time. So you should expect to see that in the beginning. The follicle, which contains the root, is simply getting rid of the old sheath. Once that is done the root will begin creating new growth. It might take a couple of months for you to see any real improvement in the way you look. Just be patient, it will grow.

You may also be told by your doctor to go easy on the newly transplanted area for a while. This is simply to give the follicle time to adjust to the new location. By following your doctor’s instructions you allow the root to take hold and begin growing. In a month or two you should be able to treat the newly transplanted follicles as you normally would. You’ll be able to comb it, wash it, and trim it as it gets to be too long. Again you simply have to be patient with it so that it becomes a permanent feature.

Hair restoration is a great way to get back what you have lost. There are few complications with this type of procedure but you should go to a specialist all the same. This way you are certain to get the results you want without the worry of what could go wrong.
