makeup tips

Prep Properly

The secret to staying immaculately made-up in the summer sun is all in the prep and your product choice. First things first, you need an oil controlling primer under your foundation. Our B6  vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray absorbs oil, minimizes pores, and reduces redness. Give your skin a quick hit of vitamins and antioxidants.

Summertime Foundation

During the day, switch your foundation for a light weighted product, our new Naked Skin One & Done does this job very well. Our hightech, weightless formula provides all-day wear and feels amazing. But the best part is how it transforms the look of your skin. More coverage, hydration, and optical blurring than a BB or CC cream and protects with SPF20. Over time, pores look smaller and skin appears noticeably firmer and more radiant.

The Right Way to Apply Blush

In general, rather than concentrating on the apple of your cheek, apply  your blush upward along the cheekbone, using the  center of your eye as a guide for your starting point. The upward sweep
also gives the illusion of pulling your face upward and slimming it.

For the most natural effect, bronzer should be applied on the hairline and jawline using a large fluffy brush. Don’t forget the center of the face; swipe the brush from cheek to cheek including the tip of your nose.

I also recommend our Gwen Stefani Blush Palette which contains all you need for a perfect and fresh glowing look super easily. It has been developed with and by the artist herself, and you will agree that her skin is always superbly flawless.

Concealer or Highlighter under the Eyes

They actually complement each other. A concealer’s job is to cover facial blemishes, dark circles, large pores, age spots, and the like. Concealers are generally more pigmented for better coverage.

The highlighter gives eyes an instant brightening boost usually with light-reflecting pigments that work like an instant eye lift. But it should not be shimmery or glittery underneath your eyes, to avoid an overdone look. Keep the shimmery for the high cheekbones. Our new Afterglow Highlighters do the job in a very easy and natural way.

3 Ways to Simplify Makeup Routine

First, remember that amazing makeup starts with an amazing skincare routine; treat the areas that need to be treated. If you have dry skin, moisturize. If you have oily skin, mattify. Makeup  should enhance. The better your skin is, the easier and quicker you can do your makeup.

Secondly, learn what your brushes are for. Once you learn your tools and how to properly use them, they will do half the work for you.

Third, make the most out of your makeup; using your products for multiple purposes is one of the quickest ways to shorten your routine. For example, the same bronzer that you use to warm up
your face could be also applied on your crease to add depth. Also, the same highlighter you use on the high points of your face could be also placed on the lid for a soft shimmer. You’ve completed a look with just two products!

Summer Eye

Forget neutral colors! This summer makeup trends are giving the eyes a makeover! We’re talking bold, electric, and bright eyes! You can go tropical or sparkling; it’s all about bringing out your individuality. Have fun with it! I personally love our Heavy Metal Eye Liners, super easy to use yet they yield maximum effect and give your eyes an immediate and unique edge.
