Men’s Fashion – Trend’s Forecast

Share

beautySummer is just about here and with that are some strong seasonal shifts in men’s fashion trends. Personal Stylist and Fashion Designer Ushi Sato highlights more.

Colors: Orange, green, and blue—these colors are bright, fresh, and especially warm to the eyes. These particular colors have been seen recently by most of the designers, particularly in Milan and Paris- from Berluti SS16, Salvatore Ferragamo SS16, Etro S16 and more. To make it more wearable, select a subtle shade and mix and match these colors with anchoring neutral shades.

Luxe-Sport: A look that can go from morning meetings to late night engagements is well presented by designers Salvatore Ferragamo, Tods, Z Zegna and particularly Hogan.

A well-tailored suit can be paired up with light-weight rubberized sole brogues for comfort. Some leather sneakers that can pass as high-casual style can be another option. Also, some suits can be uncomfortable to wear for long hours of work, but if you’re particular about fabrics, you will discover that some suits are made for movement. Hugo Boss, Perry Ellis, and Paul Smith are just some of the labels that came up with the idea of suits that you can travel and literally run in.

Prints: Just like the bright colors, prints can look deceptively unprofessional. However, they can add visual interest and there’s no shortage of them to choose from; herringbone, floral, plaid, and a bit of graffiti. The general rule is one print per outfit; if one part of your outfit is printed, opt for cleaned-line separates. It’s best to keep your look plain and simple. Another tip is understated layering using a dark or light colored jacket that best blend the color and print choice nicely.

70’s Vibe in Suede: More brands are embracing suede, from Prada, Bottega Venetta, Salvatore Ferragamo, Ralph Lauren Purple Label and more. Keep it simple: pair it with lighter fabric items. Do not overcomplicate things by mixing it with other bold textured pieces or heavy looking materials.

Wide-Legged Trousers: This season, skinny shapes went in hiding as new found wide legged trousers and jeans are mostly headlining on the SS16 runways from Armani, Lanvin, Dickies, Etro, Bally, Corneliani, Ermenegildo Zegna and more. It’s a relaxed shape best for the summer heat and will definitely give a comfortable feel. Pair it with a tailored cropped jacket to give a defined balance of shape and proportion.

Must-Haves for the Summer 2016

Shorts: A good pair of midthigh chinos or a tailored pair looks polished and neater than a longer, baggier style.

Slip on shoes: Easy-to-wear and easy-to-style available in a variety of styles. Also, these particular shoes can be worn for formal and casual events depending on its material, and you can pair it with nicely tailored trousers or denim. Dolce & Gabbana and Santoni are among the brands showcasing these.

Knitted polo: Add a bit of textural interest on your top half by wearing a welltrimmed knitted fit polo to refresh your look. It goes perfectly with well fitted denim, chinos, and trousers.

Grey jackets: This season grey jackets are taking its place on the trend, as shown from Zegna, Armani, and Diesel. It’s a piece that you can go to whenever you’re out of ideas. It can perfectly go with navy and black trousers, or even with blue, black, and washed denim.

Denim jacket: This can save your style dilemma in an instant. You can pair this with formal trousers or with a similar shade of denim, on top of a simple t-shirt or even a formal button down shirt.
