Get in The Mood For Spring

15Kate Goodwin, Makeup Artist and Educator at ILLUMIN8 Studio in Dubai reveals the top beauty trends for spring 2017.

“For spring/summer 2017 we have seen a lot of inspiration from the space age. This is an easy look to achieve using silver eye shadow or pigment. MAC has great loose pigments which you can play with wet or dry, depending on the look you want  to achieve. Too much silver eye shadow can be unflattering so using it in small impactful ways is much nicer, such as replacing your black eye flick with a clean metallic silver one instead, or just sweeping a small amount of shadow across the mobile eyelid to really make your eyes shine when open.”

We saw clean eyes and red lips, which is always a favorite look of mine as it’s simple and classic. My favorite red lipstick of the moment is Gucci luxurious pigment rich lipstick in Iconic Red; its super intense but still moisturizes the lips and looks really sleek. I always line the entire lip with a lip pencil first so the color lasts even longer.”

“Skin seems to be looking nice and fresh, with a dewy finish. Skin glows from the inside out so it’s easier to make skin glow by looking after it rather than covering it with makeup. I’m really into natural and organic skincare as I can see the difference in my skin instantly;

it really glows as the products work deep into the skin itself. Grown Alchemist is an incredible natural skincare brand that has beautiful face oils that will have your skin glowing instantly, as
well as lots of botanical benefits.”

“If you want to achieve that extra glow using makeup, Burberry has a fantastic primer called Fresh Glow that instantly illuminates the face without giving too much shine and making the skin look oily. This can be used on its own or as a primer under your base. I generally apply it to the skin then use only a concealer to cover areas that are discolored or need coverage.”
