Every woman likes to change her hair for the summer, so when I was invited to try the hair color services at Laloge salon at The Address Hotel, Downtown Dubai, I knew I would be in very good hands.
The Consultation
An elegant, expansive space with marble floors, and black and gold accents, Laloge is a high-end salon that epitomizes luxury. The second one in the city, it’s the brainchild of famed American hairstylist Jose Eber. The head stylist here—Hani, spent around 30 minutes discussing my lifestyle and the look I was hoping to achieve. My hair, he explained, had too many colors and tones, including copper, red, brown, and shades of blond. He advised I stick to my own natural hair color as much as possible, but add some lighter bits to the ends to give a fresher, new
look.
The Look
Hani used an ash brown color for my roots to give a slightly darker look to my crown area. He then teased small sections at the ends of my hair before applying the bleach for the foils. This, he explained, would give a natural result, not a dated ‘painted on highlights’ look. The result would also be less blond and more natural and subtle. Hani used only ammonia-free products and explained that most women these days have over-processed hair due to excessive blow-drying, coloring, and treatments. Ammonia-free would be less harsh and would safeguard the hair from
more damage.
The Results
After my color was shampooed out and I had a conditioning treatment, my hair was blow-dried. The end result was quite striking; not only did my hair look amazing with very ash blond on the ends of my hair, but blended ever so slightly with the crown. The best part was my hair was left surprisingly soft and very manageable.
