Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, May 4, 2015: Yas Marina Circuit today announced the line-up of Arabic entertainment artists booked to play Thursday night’s after-race concert on November 26 at the 2015 FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX at Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2015.
For the third year running, the entertainment will be kick-started by Arabic artists and in keeping with previous editions, this year’s stars represent the A list in Arabic language vocal talent. The all-star line-up was booked by FLASH Entertainment and includes DJ Said Mrad – the guru of Arabian electronic dance music, Fares Karam – traditional Lebanese and Dabke star, Aryam – the Emirati songstress and Cheb Khaled – world music icon and pioneer, who propelled Arabic music onto the global scene.
Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit said: “At Yas Marina Circuit we always aim to improve our entertainment and sporting proposition for the local, regional and international visitors attending the FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX, and 2015 is no exception. The race weekend is as much about what happens off-track as happens on-track and, this year, our range of motor racing, entertainment, corporate hospitality, and cultural and interactive elements is once again, world class.”
John Lickrish, CEO of FLASH Entertainment, added: “Today’s news is one of great importance. In our milestone seventh year for the Yasalam festival, FLASH, working alongside Yas Marina Circuit, will raise the entertainment bar higher and all Yasalam After-Race Concerts will be memorable experiences for attendees. This is the first of more exciting announcements to be made for this year’s After-Race Concert series.”
Also attending ATM as a guest of Yas Marina Circuit was former F1 driver and racing legend, Mark Webber. A celebrity ambassador for the circuit, it was also announced that he will be hosting meet and greets with corporate guests in the newly launched Marsa Boxes hospitality suites during the race weekend, running from 26th-29th November.
“I am delighted to be here supporting Yas Marina Circuit and its exclusive Marsa Boxes corporate hospitality offering,” said Mark Webber. “The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was always one of the highlights of the season during my time as a F1 driver, not to mention a world championship decider as it was in 2010; unfortunately it didn’t go my way! However, it’s great to be representing this popular track as celebrity ambassador. As the last race in the F1 calendar, it’s a very unique event in terms of the line of sporting action, world-class entertainment and visual spectacle. I look forward to welcoming our corporate guests in November.”
While at ATM, Mark Webber also entertained crowds by going head-to-head in a virtual race around Yas Marina Circuit against the CEO, Al Tareq Al Ameri on a state-of-the-art Oculus Rift simulator and proved a popular draw at the stand of Tourism & Culture Authority Abu Dhabi.
