Valentines with a twist as Artists focus on “Self Love” at the upcoming Art Exhibition

Dubai, 7^th February 2017 – Woman2Woman will be organizing its 7^th edition of Against the tides, an Art Exhibition – which every year has a new theme that takes focus of the Art show, this year Artists from the Emirates will be coming together to display “Self Love” through their Art.

“As Valentines comes around, everyone is obsessed with expressing love for someone else and as Artists we wanted to turn the tables around and see what would Artists produce if asked to showcase “Self Love” – we have been receiving some incredible artworks from painters, photographers and also Chocolatiers for this show.” Says Zareen Khan – organizer of Against the tides 2017.

One of the exhibiting Artist, Anya Akhtar explains what the topic meant to her, “Self love; the ability to gently nurture yourself in ways that allow you to blossom and grow. When we find the ability to build within ourselves acceptance; we are able to give to others from a place of fullness and completion. And in so doing allow forgiveness, strength and creativity to flow through us.”

This Art Show is open to the public, starting on 15^thtill 21^st of February at the Cartoon Art Gallery, Dubai. The Artists include; Afshan Quraishi, Anya Akhtar, Dagmar Braendle, Dr. Nafisa Sayed Motiwala, Gwyneth Rasquinha, Haafiza Syed, Erum Abdullah, Kavita Sriram, Jyoti Sethi, Linda Mohamed, Nissa Riyas, Samar Kamel, Shytal Gosami, Shiba Khan, Tripti Purewal, Yuvika Garg; Baker – Aisha Ahmed and Chocolatier – Hemmali Narsiaan.
