University Hospital Sharjah (UHS) and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) have entered into talks for future collaboration in providing quality healthcare in Sharjah. The meeting was attended by H.E. Dr. Abdelaziz Saeed Al Mheiri, Vice Chairman of Board of Trustees, at University Hospital Sharjah, H.E. Dr. Ahmad Bin Kalban, CEO of Hospital Services Sector at the Dubai Health Authority, Prof. Hakam Yaseen, Member of Board of Trustees and Medical Director of UHS, Mr. Prasanna H.T.V, Director of Finance of UHS and a number of senior directors from both organisations.
Under discussion, each organisation will share resources and services during need and emergencies. In addition, UHS and the DHA will collaborate on the provision of healthcare services and clinical consultancies, including knowledge sharing that might be required by their patients.
Commenting on the occasion, HE Abdullah Ali Al Mahyan, Chairman of Board of Trustees, at University Hospital Sharjah, said: “We are pleased to welcome this collaborative meeting with the Dubai Health Authority. This potential partnership will contribute to providing advanced medical care to patients, in-line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to enhance healthcare services in the Emirate and support the UAE’s healthcare sector.”
Prof. Hakam Yaseen, Medical Director and Head of the Paediatric & Neonatology Department at UHS, said that University Hospital Sharjah is developing collaborations and partnerships with the UAE health authorities with the goal to provide better quality services to patients. He added that these efforts were also aimed at strengthening the position of the hospital as a leading provider of healthcare services in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, as well as the best academic hospital in the country.
UHS provides a wide range of excellent medical care, from outpatient consultations and minor surgeries to long-term treatment plans in their Emergency (NICU, ICU), Oncology, Surgical and Obstetrics departments.
University Hospital Sharjah is located in the University City area of Sharjah. The hospital has a medical team of 72 doctors in addition to over 500 specialists and nurses, most of whom serve in clinical medicine and assistant medical offices.
