Dubai, 21 January 2015: In a strategic partnership with the newly launched National Program for Government Communication (NPGC), the Union Coop, a leading Consumer Cooperative Society in the UAE, sponsors the program’s first national campaign “Healthy Children 2021”. This comes to boost social responsibility and achieve the goals of the National Program for Government Communication (NPGC), announced earlier this month by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
The sponsorship comes in line with the plans to build strategic partnerships between the federal and local government entities as well as the private sector who are key players in the NPGC. The National Program for Government Communication (NPGC) is a national initiative that aims to shed light on core issues that touch upon the lives of the people in the UAE and encourage concerted efforts in the community to raise awareness about positive behavior and healthy lifestyles.
The Union Coop sponsors the campaign “Health Children 2021” and its various awareness activities, launched in mid-January and would continue through mid-March 2015. The sponsorship is geared towards promoting awareness through public announcements and messages targeting young people in cinemas, social media platforms, and public parks across the UAE. The campaign also includes distributing healthy meals among school students; disseminating awareness leaflets in food courts in several colleges in the UAE.
The National Program for Government Communication encourages private sector to take part in its various campaigns in order to contribute to the community and eventually realize the happiness and healthy life of the UAE community. Such concerted efforts will help realize the development goals set by the UAE Vision 2021.
“Healthy Children 2021” campaign is run by a dedicated team of federal and local government entities and headed by the Ministry of Health. It also includes members representing the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Social Affairs, the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare, Dubai Health Authority, and Health Authority of Abu Dhabi under the overall supervision and coordination of the Government Communication Office of the General Secretariat of the Cabinet.
