UAE union gains strength every year :Tawazun chief

UAE union Abu Dhabi 27 Nov 2014: The UAE federation is getting stronger every year and more achievements have been made over the past year thanks to the efforts by the country’s leadership, according to H.E Saif Mohamed Al Hajeri, CEO of Abu Dhabi-based Tawazun.

In a speech during a ceremony marking the UAE’s 43rd National Day, Hajeri extended greetings to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and rulers of the Emirates, and His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

“On this special occasion, we ask Allah to preserve our nation’s prosperity, fortune and blessings…I feel immense pride in saying that this year we mark the 43rd year of our nation’s existence,” he said.

“Each year the spirit of the union gains strength…….. we excel in a variety of sectors and areas, surpassing achievements we’d reached the previous year. There are so many stories across this nation that fill me with pride. Whether it is here in the UAE or that the United Arab Emirates is more than just a place on the map. We are now firmly etched in the world’s mind.”

Hajeri said the UAE has come a long way in a short space of time, adding that with the guidance of the country’s leaders, the nation has “grasped the true value of hard work, helping the UAE further push limits, and achieve its goals.”

He said the year 2014 has seen a number of initiatives take shape and come to fruition and that all of them have been important.

“But one striking example is National Service. Young men and women across this nation have pledged their loyalty to this nation and have signed up to join the National Service, committing themselves to the work that will shape their characters and strengthen our country’s capabilities,” he said.

“These young people’s commitment to our flag and our nation have demonstrated the continuous loyalty we know lies within each and every one of them. To these young people, I salute their resilience and the love they have for their country.”

He noted that Tawazun has remained committed to its tasks “out of love for this Nation”, adding that since it was established by the Tawazun Economic Council in 2007, it has set up companies and launched projects that have been designed to strengthen the strategic manufacturing sector and add value to the country’s defence capabilities.

“We have a rich history of our own thanks to the unity of the seven emirates. So it comes natural to us to want to respect the faith that our leadership has entrusted us with. You, the person sitting on your left and the person sitting on your right, each and every one of you is giving back by contributing to the Tawazun story,” he said.

“Our progress and contribution is a result of the evolution of this country and of course, your dedication and service…..so today, I want you to join me in demonstrating your commitment to this country and our leadership on the occasion of National Day. May we all continue to be guided by our leaders, and look to achieve further success, progress and development.”
