UAE, May 9, 2016 – H.E. Dr Mohammad Salim AlOlama, the Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, met with theAmbassador of Finland to the UAE, Ms Rita Swan, at the Ministry Headquarters in Abu Dhabi and discussed mutual opportunities for collaboration in the health sector and promoting exchange of expertise between the two countries through continuing medical education programs. Dr Essa Ahmed Al Mansoori, the Director of the Undersecretary Office and International Relations Office, was also present at the meeting.
H.E. Dr. AlOlama said that the Ministry is striving to keep pace with international trends in healthcare, enhance the local healthcare services and bring them up to be on par with the international standards of Quality healthcare.
Both parties explored the possibilities of visiting consultant programs to ensure availability of international healthcare locally and create opportunities to share the latest technology and expertise in the various surgical and therapeutic fields including neurosurgery, spine surgery, and joint replacement as well as physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
The Ambassador of Finland commended the UAE for the high quality of healthcare services and the clarity of vision and management in the healthcare sector. The Ambassador also noted that the robust relations and increasing cooperation between UAE and Finland are contributing positively to the respective health sectors of the two countries.
