ADCB Zayed Sports City 5 and 10k run presented by Daman’s Activelife returns for a 7th year
Abu Dhabi (January 19, 2018) – Today saw hundreds of energetic runners of all ages and abilities take part in the popular 5 & 10K Run within the closed roads of Zayed Sports City. Sponsored by Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and Daman’s Activelife, the event is organised by Gulf Multi Sport and the Abu Dhabi Striders running group.
Enjoying the beautiful winter weather in Abu Dhabi, a total of 574 runners from all over the world joined together to kick-start Race 2 of the ADCB Zayed Sports City 5 & 10K run series. This fantastic run serves as a key race to all participants; many runners use this race as a competitive hit out, leading into the Dubai Marathon on 26 January, while others take part to kick start a year of fitness and health as part of their new years resolution. The 10km course is a two lap (5km is single lap) run throughout Zayed Sports City and is clearly marked and marshalled.
A big congratulations to the Open 5K winner Ismail Ssenyanga in a time of 15:07 and Junior 5K winner Lukas-Sebastian Ellis in a time of 18:39. The 10K Open win went to Brahim Sliman, from the UAE, in a time of 32:21, with the female 10K win going to Gerda Steyn, from South Africa, in a time of 35:38.
