Special Olympics Chairman Timothy Shriver visits NYU Abu Dhabi in support of MENA Games

Special Olympics Chairman Timothy Shriver visited the MENA Special Olympics venue NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) yesterday and met with NYUAD leadership, faculty, and Special Olympics athletes.

Shriver was greeted by NYUAD Vice Chancellor Al Bloom, Provost Fabio Piano, and Associate Vice Chancellor, Global Education and Outreach and Vice Provost Carol Brandt. During his visit, Shriver also met with the Special Olympics UAE athletes, Special Olympics volunteers, and NYUAD faculty, and toured NYUAD’s athletics facilities.

Shriver is the son of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, founder of the Special Olympics games, and a leader in global efforts to improve and enhance the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Timothy Shriver is a social leader, an educator, activist, film producer and business entrepreneur, as well as the Chairman and CEO of the Special Olympics.

NYUAD is one of several main venues hosting the MENA Special Olympics games.
