ADCB Zayed Sports City 5 and 10k run presented by Daman’s ActiveLife returns for the season’s closing run
Friday saw hundreds of energetic runners of all ages and abilities take part in the popular 5 & 10K Run within the closed roads of Zayed Sports City. Sponsored by ADCB and Daman’s ActiveLife, the event is organised by Gulf Multi Sport in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Striders running group.
Enjoying the beautiful weather in Abu Dhabi, over 750 runners from all over the world joined together to finish the season strong in Race 3 of the ADCB Zayed Sports City 5 & 10K run series. The iconic Zayed Football Stadium was filled with runners, family members and volunteers, all cheering on as runners completed the popular race, an iconic remembrance run, celebrating the legacy if Sheikh Zayed. The Gulf Multi Sport team and all spectators were blessed by the participation of dual Olympic gold medallist, Kelly Holmes, as well as members of the Al Nahyan family, completing the race.
A big congratulations to the Open 5K male winner Habeeb Rahman in a time of 18:38 and Junior 5K male winner Roughan Gaetz in a time of 19:02. The Open 5K female win went to Catalina Dobre in a time of 20:10, with the Junior 5K female and overall winner Pauline de Groof with a time of 19:20.
The 10K Open male win went to Liam Bek in a time of 35:20, with the 10K Veterans male win going to Matthew Allsop in a time of 40:45. Well done to the female 10K winner Miriam Maher in a time of 42:56, with Kelly Holmes, Olympic gold medallist, winning the female 10K veterans category and overall female winner, in an amazing time of 40:37.
