Roger Dubuis, a leader in Fine Watchmaking and pioneer of contemporary skeleton calibres, recently organised a VIP Suhour for some of the UAE’s prominent personalities, in order to further their “Time for Change” charity initiative and other projects beneficial to society as a whole.
The Suhour was hosted by Mona Bin Kalli, Director of H.H. Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cultural Office at the Roger Dubuis boutique in Emirates Towers. The function was attended by some of the leading women from UAE society, who got together to discuss various charity schemes for the benefit of society, including the Roger Dubuis–Emirates Foundation “Time for Change” initiative.

The “Time for Change” initiative will raise funds for the Emirates Airline Foundation through a silent auction of a unique piece: the Excalibur Skeleton Double Flying Tourbillon. The timepiece, designed exclusively for the partnership, is Roger Dubuis’ most iconic creation, a true collector’s item! All the proceeds of the auction will go towards the Emirates Airline Foundation’s many programs dedicated to bettering the lives of children all over the world.
The Excalibur Skeleton Double Flying Tourbillon is a ground-breaker in the world of watchmaking. A masterpiece from a Maison known for its daring technical innovativeness, the timepiece brings together for the first time the skeleton and the double flying tourbillion in an extravagant exercise in style and watchmaking expertise.
The timepiece is powered by the extremely technical RD01SQ movement, comprised of 301 parts that ensure greater precision thanks to a differential system that averages the rates of the two tourbillons. As with every other masterpiece from the Roger Dubuis collections, the Excalibur Skeleton Double Flying Tourbillon carries the Poinçon de Genève, the seal of watchmaking excellence.
The “Time for Change” auction will run from August 15th 2014 until March 15th 2015. During this time passengers on all Emirates flights and visitors to the Roger Dubuis boutique at Emirates Towers can submit bids for a chance to own a collector’s dream. The winning bidder will be invited for a VIP visit to the Roger Dubuis Manufacture in Geneva.
