Gulf For Good (G4G) is a UAE-based, not-for-profit organization under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum. They organize adventure challenges for people to raise sponsorship to support children’s charities around the world. Last week, G4G received fundraising approvals from the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) for their upcoming Great Wall of China and Borneo Challenges under license no’s 247 and 248 respectively. With fundraising approvals and permissions now in place, G4G offers a unique opportunity to take part in the journey of a lifetime, to challenge yourself, and raise money for some wonderful global children’s charities.

The ‘Wild Wall Challenge’ is 6 days of hiking along some of the most spectacular sections of the Great Wall of China taking in its breathtaking views. Passing through beautiful farmland and quiet villages, the route will involve some gently undulating sections, but also some steep and rocky terrain to reach the most impressive parts of the Wall. Whilst the ‘Wilds of Borneo’ is an incredible 9-day challenge including kayaking in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, cycling around the Sabah Tea plantation, and an early hike to witness the magnificent sunrise from the summit of Mount Kinabalu. The trip culminates with a fun morning of bamboo rafting in the Kuilu River… once you have built your own raft!

Gulf for Good is all about making a difference and changing lives: both yours and the lives of children around the world. That’s why each trip includes a day visiting a nominated charity where you can see for yourself what your fundraising efforts will go towards. Funds raised by participants of these challenges will support the Bethel Foundation – a Beijing charity providing foster care, education and training for visually impaired children, and Borneo Child Aid – a local charity providing underprivileged kids access to education that they otherwise would not receive.

All of the Gulf For Good challenges are open to anyone with a moderate level of fitness. During the lead up to a challenge, G4G provides all participants with help and support in fundraising ideas, safety advice, and recommended clothing and equipment, as well as encouraging everyone to take part in their free weekly training and fitness sessions which include distance walking, stair climb training, and beach and snow hikes.

The Wild Wall Challenge will take place from 19th – 26th May 2017 and the Wilds of Borneo from 29th September – 6th October 2017.
