Prime Hospital’s New Service Connects Newborns with Families Worldwide

Prime Hospital

Dubai – August 10th, 2015: Enhancing the unique family experience it offers to patients, Prime Hospital has launched the innovative Look@MyBaby® service to enable parents and families experience the first moments of newly born babies and stay connected with them around the clock.

The service, the first of its kind in the UAE and the region, will help mothers who deliver  at Prime Hospital stay connected around the clock, through their mobile phones or PCs, to their newly-born babies in NICU and Nursery. Family members worldwide will also be able to connect with the newborn and experience its first moments.

“Interestingly, the new service which is available throughout Prime Hospital’s tiered maternity environments for nursery, rooming-in preference and NICU, has reduced the amount of stress experienced by Mums who had to be separated from their newborns”, explained Laila Matar, the Emirati Pediatrician at Prime Hospital.

The novel solution is enabled by Look@MyBaby®, the company that delivers managed services for healthcare operators with specific applications in general postnatal maternity, special care nurseries and neonatal intensive care units (NICU). Parents are provided with a password for the service which they can share with their relatives worldwide to enjoy the first yawns and smiles of the newborns.

“As the first moments of a newborn are so special for parents and relatives, we have tied up with Look@MyBaby to launch this new service that allows them to have more time to bond with their newborn by offering a secure, live video stream to family and friends who can share in the wondrous first moments from anywhere in the world – all they need is an Internet connection”, said Riaz Khan, general Manager, Prime Hospital.

“We are eager to adopt innovative solutions that enhance the most convenient healthcare experience we offer patients and their families, across all departments. The response to the Look@Mybaby service so far by our culturally diverse families has been fantastic, with an uptake rate of over 90% in the first month”, added Khan.

Prime Hospital has welcomed more the 390 births since its opening in 2014, in its fully dedicated maternity and paediatric floor. The floor has 2 delivery rooms, a C-section OT, a Pediatric ICU and 7 BED Neonatal ICU.
