Abu Dhabi, UAE – February 10, 2017: Korean rising star and Chopin competition gold medallist Seong-Jin Cho captivated audiences for two nights across Abu Dhabi, in a penultimate Abu Dhabi Classics showcase of musical artistry on February 7 and 8, which took place at the Arts Center, New York University Abu Dhabi in the capital, and the enchanting Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort.

Brought to the UAE under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates and organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Classics programme hosted Seong-Jin Cho in his first visit to the Emirate.

Seong-Jin Cho took to the stage at the Arts Center, New York University Abu Dhabi, performing Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor and Piano Sonata No. 30 for intent audiences, before providing an inspirational rendition Debussy’s Image Book 2 and Chopin, Piano Sonata No. 3. On the following evening, Seong-Jin Cho performed at one of the emirate’s most outstanding hospitality gems; the Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara, methodically playing his second recital, that reflected musical performance excellence and his profound passion for the various forms of piano composition reminiscent of the Classical era.

Virgin Megastores across the UAE and www.ticketmaster.ae are now selling tickets to the final Abu Dhabi Classics concert of the 2017/2018 season, where Ukraine-based Donetsk Opera and Ballet Theatre with Bolshoi Soloists Ivan Vasiliev & Ekaterina Krysanova will take to the stage in a dramatic theatrical performance alongside one of the UAE’s first ballerinas Alia Al Neyadi.

Slated to be an unprecedented conclusion to this season of Abu Dhabi Classics, this one-night special performance choreographed by legendary choreographer Yuri Grigorovich, will depict scenes from some of classical ballet’s most mesmerising and globally acclaimed theatrical excerpts from the renowned Bolshoi Ballet troupe.

The concert will take place at Emirates Palace on April 20, 2018, signalling the end of this season’s Abu Dhabi Classics programme which is produced by Flash Entertainment.
