Flea market returns to Sheraton Abu Dhabi in support of UNICEF
Join Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort for a fun filled day to sell and buy pre-loved goods. The city centre hotel will host its popular charity flea market on Saturday 19th of September in Arzanah Ballroom. The flea market opens at 9am and ends at 2pm in the afternoon. Visitors can enter free of charge. Exhibitor tables are available for AED 285 each. Furthermore, if you book your table by the 5th of September, you will receive AED 40 discount on the rate.
Exhibitors can sell unwanted items from their home (for example clothing, electronics, small furniture, kids’ toys), while bargain hunters can stroll through the market to look for the best opportunities. All funds collected from the table hire will help UNICEF’s vital work for children, while proceeds from the tables benefit the exhibitors.
The charity bazaar is a regular event at Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort – it takes place 3-4 times a year. “Our charity flea markets have been running for a number of years. It has quickly become a sought-after event and it remains an incredibly popular date in our calendar. It is no longer just a charity fundraiser but has developed into a community occasion that brings people together.” – explains Yves Tarabout, Deputy General Manager of the hotel.
“There are 90-95 exhibitor stands at each flea market and hundreds of visitors. We hope that the community’s overwhelming support remains unwavering and we will have the opportunity to welcome our regular friends as well as new visitors.” – adds Mr. Tarabout.
This year UNICEF and Starwood Hotels & Resorts are celebrating 20 years of partnership. Since 1995, Starwood have supported UNICEF projects in more than 40 countries across the world with $30 million of funds raised. All money collected from the flea market exhibitors will support UNICEF’s WASH projects providing clean drinking water and proper sanitation facilities for children and their families across Africa and the Middle East.
UNICEF works in more than 100 countries around the world to improve water supplies and sanitation facilities in schools and communities, and to promote safe hygiene practices. In emergency situations, UNICEF also provides urgent relief to communities and nations threatened by disrupted water supplies and disease.
