Ministry of Health celebrates UAE Flag Day via simultaneous flag raising across facilities

UAE Flag DayUAE, November 3, 2015 – In celebration of the UAE Flag Day, the Ministry of Health organized a ceremony which saw its offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and hospitals, health centers and medical facilities throughout the country simultaneously raising the UAE flag with the national anthem playing in the background.

Health Undersecretary H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Olama led the commemoration along with H.E. Dr. Amin Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Policy and Licensing; H.E. Dr. Awad Al Ketbi, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services; H.E. Dr. Hussein Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for Health Centers and Clinics; and Dr. Yousif MohammedAlSerkal, Assistant Undersecretary for the Hospitals Sector. Department heads, staff and the public also attended the celebration.

The UAE Government has proclaimed November 3 as the UAE Flag Day, an event that coincides with the anniversary of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s assumption of office. The celebration is also based on the ‘My Flag Is My Home’ initiative of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

H.E. Al Olama said: “Each year we celebrate the UAE Flag Day to honor the past and current generations that have brought pride to our homeland. It is also a time to renew our sense of belonging and loyalty to the UAE and its wise leaders, who are continuously guiding us towards our success in all fields. I extend my sincere congratulations to the rulers of the Emirates.”

H.E. added: “This is also a time to pay homage to our martyrs who protected the honor of our country. Due to their sacrifices, we at the Ministry are inspired to develop strategies aligned with the Cabinet decision declaring 2015 as the Year of Innovation. Through innovation, we aim to provide sustainablehealth services to the communityin close coordination with the private sector. Additionally, the Ministry of Healthseekstoimplement an integratedsystem of advanced health services that meet the highest international standards to raise the quality of life of citizens and residents n the UAE.
