We would like to cordially invite you to a media briefing session with representatives from the UAE  Ministry of Health and Prevention, Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) on “Control of infectious diseases during Hajj: Role of vaccination against infectious diseases like pneumococcal and meningococcal disease”. With Hajj only a month away,  illions of pilgrims from all over the world are expected to visit Mecca and Madinah; and it can pose a major health threat to attendees’ as well local population in terms of importation/exportation and spread of infectious diseases. 1 It is highly important for them to take vaccination to protect themselves against preventable infectious diseases.

• Key Highlights:Presentation on Health safety guidelines for Hajj pilgrims and the need for proactive vaccinations for travelers from UAE to prevent infectious diseases – Laila Hussein Al Jasmi, Head Immunization Section, Preventive Medicine Department, Health Centers and Clinics Sector, Ministry of Health and Prevention, UAE
• Panel discussion on the efforts being undertaken in the UAE to ensure safe and healthy travel and prevent infectious diseases:
