We would like to cordially invite you to a media briefing session with representatives from the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) on “Control of infectious diseases during Hajj: Role of vaccination against infectious diseases like pneumococcal and meningococcal disease”. With Hajj only a month away, illions of pilgrims from all over the world are expected to visit Mecca and Madinah; and it can pose a major health threat to attendees’ as well local population in terms of importation/exportation and spread of infectious diseases. 1 It is highly important for them to take vaccination to protect themselves against preventable infectious diseases.
