KEF & TAHPI Launch – World’s First Industrialized Approach to Healthcare Design and Construction at Arab Health Exhibition and Congress

KEF&TAHPIDubai-UAE: 26 January, 2015 – KEF-TAHPI Design Studio, a collaboration of KEF Holdings, an UAE-based offsite construction company and Australia-based TAHPI, showcased its first modular hospital concept at the Arab Health Exhibition and Congress that is currently underway at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Offering an ‘assemble rather than build solution’, the concept is the world’s first industrialized approach to healthcare design and construction. As part of the launch, KEF-TAHPI unveiled catalogues for five prototype hospitals, each offering a complete turnkey package comprising the facilities, equipment, commissioning and manuals. The KEF-TAHPI ‘Catalogue Hospitals’ range from 18 beds to 500 beds and any size in between.

The concept was unveiled at the KEF-TAHPI stand in the presence of His Excellency TP Seetharam, Ambassador of India to the UAE, His Excellency Pablo King, Ambassador of Australia to the UAE and Qatar, as well as Faizal E. Kottikollon, Founder-Chairman, KEF Holdings and Aladin Niazmand, Director, TAHPI.

The stand at Arab Health Exhibition and Congress features a prototype of the KEF-TAHPI Design Studio, showcasing a realistic modular rendition of three standard hospital room types including an inpatient bedroom, bathroom and utility room.

Under the partnership of KEF Holdings and TAHPI Pty Limited, a ‘KEF-TAHPI Design Studio’ has been already set up at the Dubai Healthcare City. Bringing together the core competencies of KEF Holdings and TAHPI – a hard and soft modular construction respectively – the KEF-TAHPI Design Studio offers clients the convenience of choosing design options from an exhaustive design catalogue with a view to reducing project costs and timeframe of implementation by almost 50%.

The prefabricated hospital modules designed at the studio are manufactured at the KEF Industrial Park in Krishnagiri, India. A second manufacturing unit is also being developed in Jebel Ali, Dubai. Taking shape at an investment of US$100 million, the production unit is scheduled for completion in Q3 2015.
