The ICT Department affiliated to the Directorate General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, received the ISO 14001 certification for the Environment Management System and the OHSAS 18001 certification for the Occupational Health and Safety Management System. These certifications were obtained in pursuance of the Environment, Health and Occupational Safety System Project.
Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations, recently received the two certificates from Major Dr. Saif Salem Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director of Strategy and Performance Development, in the presence of Colonel Anwar Al Mulla, Head of ICT Department at Abu Dhabi Police.
Colonel Al Mulla said that the implementation of the Environment Management System and the Occupational Health and Safety System is consistent with the requirements of the Abu Dhabi government with respect to the implementation of the environment, sustainability, occupational health and safety systems. “The ICT Department is adamantly committed to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of its employees and customers, according to the environment, occupational health and safety’s general policy adopted by the Abu Dhabi Police,” he continued.
Adding further, Colonel Al Mulla stressed the department’s commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, and guaranteeing the safe storage and usage of all materials and substances. He said: “We should also provide sufficient monitoring to prevent any safety, health and environment risks associated with its operations. We should also include the environment, health and occupational safety requirements into the training courses and the manuals, and use modern safety equipment to help protect lives.”
