Abu Dhabi, UAE Wednesday 18 November, 2015: H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, officially opened today the region’s ultimate luxury lifestyle super show – Big Boys Toys 2015.
After three successful outings, Big Boys Toys 2015 – the sixth edition of the UAE’s ultimate luxury lifestyle super show – returned to its original home in Abu Dhabi this year.
Guests and VIP ticket holders who attended the exclusive show preview today were among the first to view a jaw-dropping collection of luxury lifestyle products across 10 public-friendly categories: drive, lifestyle, marine, aviation, digital, wellness, adventure, off-road, ride and fashion.
Showstoppers at Big Boys Toys 2015 include River’s ToneUSD 9million luxury sound system, made by Japanese firm Valorado, using 60 kilogrammes of gold and diamonds. Designed and built using technologies invented by former Sony visionary, Michio Sakamoto, the system is the only one-of-its-type in the world.
Flying through the show today and making its first public appearance was the USD 1 million high-speed drone by Wingcopter. Today’s guests were also among the first in the world to see the Wingcopter in action.
One of the breath-taking centre pieces at the show this year is the 53’ Sueños – the world’s largest, outboard powered, censer console custom boat built to fish or cruise in total comfort and style. As with all HydraSports Custom boats, 53’ Sueños, will have very limited production – no more than 12 of these boats will be produced per year and is priced at USD 1,200,000 each.
Audiences on day one came face to face with one of popular culture’s biggest boys’ toy: Batman’s ‘Tumbler’ Batmobile. Inspired by the vehicle made famous by Christian Bale’s Caped Crusader trilogy, the AED3m ‘Tumbler’ boasts a V8, 5.7 litre Chevrolet Corvette engine and propane tanks which shoot fire.
A key returning attraction at the show is the ‘Super Car Test Drive Pit’, where car enthusiasts over the age of 21 holding a valid driving license can test drive from a selection of over 50 super slick and lightning fast supercars.
Other exciting interactive experiences include digital shooting, simulation, archery and digital laser guided shooting.
Alongside Big Boys Toys 2015, show organisers Artaaj will debut the Middle East Innovation Conference in Abu Dhabi – a three-day forum hosting an influential cast of academic thought-leaders and public and private sector representatives in a series of talks aimed at enhancing progress, prosperity and innovation across domestic communities, universities and schools to further propel the UAE’s economic diversification.
This year’s event opens to the public 19 – 21 November 2015 between 12pm – 10pm and features a diverse collection of cutting-edge technology and lifestyle products displayed by more than 200 local, regional and international exhibitors from over 17 countries.
