Dubai, November, 2015: Global Village, the leading family, entertainment and cultural destination in the region is kicking off with its opening weekend with a wide range of high quality entertainment and bespoke shows that will leave guests with an unforgettable experience.
A great line up begins with the announcement of Global Village’s biggest ever cultural show. Fiestaval will take guests on an exciting journey across five of the most amazing festivals from around the world. It will chart the journey of three Dr. Seuss-style characters, each with their own individual traits and personalities. Together they will travel across five festivals around the world for families to enjoy all on one stage.
From sunny Mexico to the Ice Festival of Russia, which will include real snow, the trio will embark on a journey to the calm sound of lapping water and Italian accordion music in Venice. They will then set sail reaching Thailand for the Loy Krathong festival of floating lights. The audience will finally travel to India to celebrate the Holi Festival of Colours. Here, the cast will be in paint splattered costumes to symbolize the throwing of powdered paint, creating a spectacular, colourful and celebratory finale!
Supported by spectacular street actors and performers from all over the world, Fiestaval will be a unique high end production show created specifically for Global Village’s multi-cultural audience.
A further highlight this weekend will be an extravagant parade featuring Global village’s own mascot, Globo. Taking place between 8:30pm- 9pm, Globo and his friends will lead the way, inviting guests and performers from the other pavilions to join them as they walk through the park. This parade is one not to be missed.
Musicians and singers from all over the world will gather at Global Village to put on spectacular shows and entertain the guests into the evening, all included within the Global Village entry ticket. On Friday, November 6, 2015, . Global Village will welcome Emirati musician Abdallah Bel Khair who will be singing his greatest hits. Known for his musical talents and representation for UAE’s heritage, Abdallah started his singing career when he joined the music institute in Cairo. His debut song, ‘Aala Hawa’ launched his music career and he hasn’t looked back since. In 2007 he released an album which included a duet with the famous singer Meriam Faris.
Alongside Bel Khair, Manal Mousa, the young Arab artist who touched thousands of fans with her performance on Arab Idol, will be singing a number of the songs that catapulted her to fame. Manal’s singing career only started 3 years ago, but she is a born talent and comes from a singing family background. She cites her inspiration as artists such as Umm Kulthum and Fairuz
This weekend is just the start of what is set to be a hugely successful six months. Ticket entry prices will remain AED 15 for adults and free entry for children under three. People with a disability and adults over 65 years receive free entry.
