Dubai, 12th April 2015 – Dubai-based chiropractor Dr Helle Kaerskov of Total Health is reaching out to people looking to improve their health with simple measures they can adopt in their day-to-day lives for better nutrition and a healthier lifestyle.
“I have been in Dubai long enough to know a lot of people are desperate for help with their health issues,” says Dr Helle, who has run Total Health, a holistic health centre specialising on chiropractic, nutrition and wellness, since 2008.
“There is a big divide in the UAE between people whose insurance or earnings allow them access to the best medical care and those whose insurance is inadequate or don’t have the money available to pay for proper treatment.”
With Total Health, Dr Helle has established a health centre catering to all facets of Dubai society, from CEOs and business leaders to labourers and service industry workers. Her goal is to provide anyone, no matter their walk of life, with the tools necessary to live a healthy lifestyle.
“Many people are desperate to make a change in their life to live healthier but don’t know where to begin and or how simple the changes can be for a positive effect.”In honour of World Health Day, Dr Helle has come up with five simple rules that can easily be adapted to a busy schedule to ensure a healthier lifestyle:
1. Get regular spinal adjustment
See your chiropractor on a regular basis so your spine is in alignment and the nerves are reaching where they need to be unobstructed. Effective chiropractic alignment can provide pain relief from many afflictions including migraine, back pain, arm pain, shortness of breath and give you more energy.
2. Avoid sugar and refined carbohydrates
On average we eat around 74kgs of sugar a year – for optimal health this can be reduced to about 1kg of sugar a year. Sugar is an inflammatory that’s responsible or contributes to a range of health problems from weight gain and heart disease to depression; by eliminating it from the diet often sees patients enjoy increased energy, vitality and endless health benefits.
3. Avoid trans-fats and add 25ml of Omega3 to your daily routine
Omega3 is the opposite of sugar – it’s an anti-inflammatory that evidence shows will keep blood sugar levels stable and reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes and death from heart disease. It will also give you beautiful skin, more energy and help with conditions such as asthma, cancer, depression and arthritis.
4. Start your day with a glass of water and fresh lemon juice from half a lemon to detox your body – it’s a great wake up for your kidneys and liver and is about the simplest thing you can do to start living a healthy life.
5. Practice gratitude and appreciation
The more you practice gratitude the more things you’ll have to be grateful for. Where your focus goes your energy flows; It is the law of attraction. More creates more.
“Incorporate these five steps into your routine and I can guarantee you’ll be feeling the positive results within a month,” says Dr Helle. “It only takes 21 days to change a habit so after the first month you’ll no longer have to think about these changes so much and will be on your way to a balanced life full of energy and good health.”
To help the large portion of UAE’s residents who don’t have regular access to doctor’s with Dr Helle’s expertise, Total Health has developed a 21-day programme to get them on the right track to a healthier life.
In the heavily discounted programme, patients will visit Total Health three times a week for a comprehensive health evaluation and rehabilitation programme comprising of a food plan, exercise regime, chiropractic care and ongoing consultation over the entire three week programme.
