FedEx Express Hosts Tour of Orbis Flying Eye Hospital at Dubai Airshow

DUBAI, U.A.E., November 14, 2017 — FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, hosted a tour of the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital at the Dubai Airshow. FedEx has supported Orbis for more than 30 years to achieve its vision of a world in which no one is needlessly visually-impaired.

The tour was led by Taarek Hinedi, vice president of FedEx Express Middle East and Africa Operations, and Bruce Johnson, Director, Aircraft Operations, Orbis.  

Since 1982, FedEx has facilitated the humanitarian efforts of Orbis International, a nonprofit, humanitarian organization dedicated to saving sight in the developing world. The ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital has visited 92 countries to date conducted 287 training and service programs in 160 cities. FedEx provides financial, operational and logistical support to Orbis as well as access to the world through its global networks, including volunteer pilots and providing maintenance and ground support, serving as translators, and helping to transport medical supplies.
