Duchess of Cornwall and HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein Tour Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai’s New Paediatric Ophthalmology Unit at Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital

AL JALILA CHILDREN'S SPECIALTY HOSPITAL10 November 2016 (Dubai, United Arab Emirates): The Chief Executive of Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Mr. David Probert, had the honour of meeting Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall and Chairperson of Dubai Healthcare City Authority Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, during a tour of the new Paediatric Ophthalmology area and service offered by Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai in Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital in Dubai. Under a new collaboration agreement between the two hospitals, Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai will provide Paediatric Ophthalmology services in the newly opened Al Jalila Children’s Hospital.

 Al Jalila Children’s, the UAE’s first dedicated paediatric hospital, signed an agreement with Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai, for the provision of paediatric ophthalmology services by Moorfields in Al Jalila Children’s, effective from 27 October 2016.

 Relocation of Moorfields’ current Paediatric Ophthalmology team and services to Al Jalila Children’s will enable the hospital to provide comprehensive ophthalmic care under one roof, and will contribute to Al Jalila Children’s vision to be recognised as one of the top 10 paediatric hospitals in the world in years to come.

 Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai will continue to provide its comprehensive range of paediatric ophthalmology services under its name, from the new location in Al Jalila Children’s. Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai will continue to provide all other ophthalmology services from its current location, in Al Razi Medical Complex, Dubai Healthcare City.

 Medical staff from Moorfields will provide their invaluable medical expertise and current service offering to Al Jalila Children’s.
