62nd Members Art Exhibition from 4th till 14th November at Gallery 76 in DIAC.
Dubai, 23rd October 2017 – Dubai International Art Centre proudly hosts its 62nd Members Exhibition, at Gallery 76 at Dubai International Art Centre from 4th to 14th November 2017, this show celebrates the creativity & talent of its members and is open to the public.
This exhibition will showcase creations from its students who represent a diverse demographic of amateur and professional artisans. For those who appreciate Art, this exhibition will have something for every taste, from sculpture to oil & watercolor painting, drawing, pastels and mixed media. Many of the works will be for sale, making this exhibition an ideal opportunity to purchase original artwork at reasonable prices.
Sahira Ameen – The Gallery Manager explains, “We are very pleased with the overwhelming entrees from our members this year to exhibit and compete for prizes, this Exhibition allows for a healthy competition, where a panel of renowned judges are invited to see and select the most skilled and refined works of Art to reward.”
This year the judges include critically acclaimed Artist Ragini Dewan & Khalil Abdul Wahid the Visual Arts Manager at Dubai Culture and acclaimed Artist.
Khalil Abdul Wahid explains about Art, “Works are not simply about the individual artist or their personality, but on the material of the artist. It isn’t something that people focus on, but to me it has huge significance. The material is used and discarded but what is the function of that object itself? The story is about how it was used, the relationship they had to it, the function of the object itself. I take these remnants and create something new out of them in an attempt to tell that story. As a series, I am documenting histories of artworks and of artists. Preserving all of these for the next generation.”
