Workers in Dubai Healthcare City benefit from collaboration between leading clinics and Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences to mark International Labor Day
A healthy workforce is a happy workforce! Dubai Dental Clinic (DDC) and Dubai Bone and Joint Center (DBAJ), part of the Dubai Healthcare City Medical network, have joined forces to acknowledge the dedication of workers in Dubai Healthcare City by providing complimentary bone density screenings and dental check-ups.
More than 100 Dubai Healthcare City staff, including security guards, cleaners and maintenance crews, benefitted from the expert care and knowledge of leading Healthcare City-based clinics during the ‘Labor Day’ program, organised by Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) in line with its initiatives celebrating the ‘Year of Zayed’.
The workers were given a general health check-up delivered by Mediclinic City Hospital, which included a blood test, blood pressure check and weight measurement, before receiving a dental check-up from DDC’s expert team of multi-specialists, and bone density screenings performed by DBAJ renowned musculoskeletal clinicians.
Dr Khawla Humaid Belhoul, Director of DDC, said: “As we strive to become a leader in research and prevention in oral health, an important element of our work is engaging with communities and passing on our expert knowledge on the best methods for preventative care, because we care to see people smile. Participation in this activity underscores our commitment to providing quality dental care to different segments of society,”.
Dr Ali Al Hammadi, spokesperson for DBAJ, added: “It is common for people serving communities in facilities management and security roles to suffer from joint and muscle pains. Therefore, this initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to provide people with musculoskeletal-related discomfort a chance to live pain-free lives. We care about the community and this is one of the many ways we can say thank you to people who work tirelessly to make our working lives better.”
Following the checks and the screenings, the results were recorded and the workers were moved to a “health advocates” station where MBRU students and faculty explained the next steps.
