iSwimNYUAD is ActiveLife’s first swimming-focused initiative

6 September 2017, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: National Health Insurance Company – Daman has today announced that its ActiveLife brand will launch iSwimNYUAD as the initiative’s first weekly swimming event.

Beginning Saturday September 9 2017, iSwimNYUAD will provide the public with free weekly access to NYU Abu Dhabi’s Olympic-size swimming pool.
This new training platform is the latest of six regular ActiveLife events that are free and open to the public, including StartYAS, TrainZSC, Go YAS, TrainDubai and iTrainSaturdays.
iSwimNYUAD comes as part of Daman’s efforts to provide the Abu Dhabi community with a comprehensive approach to health, fitness and wellbeing. The world-class 50-metre pool will be open to the residents of Abu Dhabi every Saturday morning between 9am and 11am, and marks ActiveLife’s first regular event dedicated to swimming.
The weekly event will cater to all individuals and groups including those currently not confident at swimming, as well as those who are eager to take part in a triathlon but want to strengthen their capabilities before doing so.
Dr. Michael Bitzer, CEO of Daman, said: “As with all ActiveLife events, iSwimNYUAD is an open and inclusive platform that provides an accessible environment for all members of the community to take part in, regardless of their fitness levels and previous athletic experience.”

Swimming is proven to be an effective way of burning calories while avoiding heavy impact on joints, Dr. Bitzer continued:

Daman has appointed Gulf Multi Sports to run the weekly event following the success of previous collaborations.
