Cambridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center recognized by JCI for a gold standard of care

Abu Dhabi, 30 November 2015: Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center (CMRC), the UAE’s premium provider of long-term acute care and rehabilitation, has been awarded the universally recognised Gold Seal of Approval® from Joint Commission International (JCI), the world’s largest and most recognized healthcare accreditor. This award recognises CMRC’s international standard and quality of patient care and organisation management in long-term care and rehabilitation.
The JCI accreditation strengthens CMRC’s existing range of affiliations with best-in-class international experts and institutions, which include a partnership with the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, a Harvard Medical School Teaching Hospital, and the Joslin Diabetes Centre, the world’s largest diabetes research centre.
Commenting on the recent accolade, Dr. Howard S. Podolsky, Chief Executive Officer of CMRC, said, “The JCI is recognised globally as a leader in international healthcare accreditation. Their acknowledgement of our work here at CMRC in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain is testament to our commitment to providing our patients with a value proposition that is both physician-led and patient-centred.”
He added: “Demand for world-class rehabilitation and long-term care facilities has seen a dramatic rise across the UAE as more and more Emirati patients opt to receive treatment in the UAE closer to their families and communities. We understand that the rehabilitation journey is a partnership built with families, healthcare affiliates and governments and based on respect, trust and hope, and this is exactly what we offer at Cambridge Medical.”
CMRC, which operates a 90-bed facility in Abu Dhabi and a 45 bed facility in Al Ain, provides a range of rehabilitation services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language therapy, hydrotherapy and respiratory therapy.  Patients requiring care have typically suffered strokes, near-drownings, brain injuries, muscular-skeletal injuries, and neurological conditions, as well as congenital conditions.
