Zenofer Fathima to take annual cultural fest to new heights

The 2018 edition of the highly-anticipated ASEAN Festival is slated to open this Friday at the Rise Dubai Creek Harbour. Headlining this year’s event is the participation of Zenofer Fathima, producer/presenter of Food Addict, a popular television show that captures the rich culinary scene of Malaysia.

The two-day multi-cultural event, organized by five member countries of the ASEAN Business Councils Alliance (ABCA), will feature ASEAN-themed street foods, arts and crafts, kids’ zone, fashion shows, live music, karaoke, film and more. Highlight of the first day will be the ‘Food Addict Junior Challenge’, a healthy snack competition for kiddie chefs initiated by Zenofer. The winner stands a chance to star in one of Food Addict’s special episode.

Zenofer said that in addition to performances and gastronomy, other main attractions to look forward to include workshops, fashion shows and film screenings. “The ASEAN Festival is a great day to spend with family and friends. We have created a space where everyone can have fun together and learn about each other’s cultures through a host of activities that we prepared,” commented Zenofer.

Zenofer was a well-known figure in the UAE broadcast industry, having been a former television presenter in the first English channel in Dubai before moving to Malaysia to develop a new career path. Recognizing the affinity of UAE residents for Malaysia and aiming to make it easy for them to enjoy Malaysia’s diverse cuisine when they come to the country for a visit, she single-handedly produced the successful first season run of Food Addict in Zee TV Middle East. Zenofer is set to produce new episodes for the television show, which has since catered to the millions of multicultural tourist arrivals in Malaysia every year
