Over $100,000 in cash prize to be won for the Jiu-Jitsu players in Tokyo
Black Belt Adult GI winners receive complimentary flight ticket to the Grand Slam event in Abu Dhabi (January 2017)
Tokyo, Japan, 21 October 2016: Over 500 jiu-jitsu players from around the world have registered to compete at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu World Tour in Tokyo, Japan, taking place on Sunday 23rd October 2016 at the Big Turtle Fukaya, Saitama.
Some of the highest participating countries [in terms of number of players] include: 196 Japanese players, 166 Brazilian players, 36 USA players, 16 Korean players, 19 Australian players, 16 French players and 21 players from the UAE. All the players are traveling from their respective countries to compete in Tokyo, Japan.
The registered players include: 91 Black Belt players, 460 male players and 47 female players.
“The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu World Tour originated from the capital of the United Arab Emirates – Abu Dhabi. Now they are here in Tokyo and every tournament has been bigger, more exciting, with more participants than the previous one”. Said United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Japan, His Excellency Khaled Omran Al Ameri.

Weigh-ins for all the players competing at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam, Tokyo will take place on Saturday 22nd October [17:00pm to 19:00pm], October at the Big Turtle Fukaya, Saitama
A Referees rules course will be held on Saturday 22nd October [13:00PM to 15:00PM] at Big Turtle Fukaya, Saitama [Budo Area] for players with a blue belt ranking or higher. Brown and black belt players, who wish to receive a UAE Referee Diploma will be able to take written and video tests.
