• Three hundred and seven nationalities took part in the relay.
The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) in partnership with Nature Valley broke the existing Guinness World Record for the most participants to take part in a bicycle relay.
Three hundred and seven nationalities took part in the relay, breaking the earlier Guinness World Record of 2016 when 302 participants took part in a bicycle relay in China. The participants cycled for 100 meters and the event took place last week at City Walk, Dubai.
Dr Fahad Baslaib, Interventional Cardiologist and CEO of Rashid Hospital said, “We are proud of breaking this record and in turn raising awareness about the importance of regular exercise. This initiative is in line with the recently concluded Dubai Fitness Challenge, which was launched for the second consecutive year by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council. The DFC intends to make Dubai the most active city in the world. At the DHA, we are keen to continue raising awareness about the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle and regular exercise is a key component for better health. We thank all the participants who helped us break the record.”
Norah Al Saja, Marketing Manager at Nature Valley said, “I would like to express my sincere appreciation to our partners at the Dubai Health Authority who generously helped us make this event a great success. At Nature Valley, we always want to inspire people to eat well and be active. Therefore, we recently launched our app NVMOVE that encourages people to stay active and rewards them accordingly. We are committed to such awareness initiatives that encourage the community to lead a healthy lifestyle.”
