Dubai-UAE: 15 December, 2017 – Foundation Holdings, a multifamily strategic, global investments firm headquartered in the UAE, offered a rare treat to 120 blue-collar workers from the Sonapur labor camp to watch some of their favorite cricket heroes live in action at the T-10 Cricket League match between Bengal Tigers and Punjab Legends through a CSR initiative.
The 120 workers were selected through a lucky draw held at a series of health prevention awareness workshops spread over two weeks., The workshops were attended by more than 500 participants.
Of the 120 workers who enjoyed watching the game and cricket stars, including Shahid Afridi, Virendra Sehwag, Eoin Morgan and Misbah-ul Haq in action, Ghanshyam Banjade, 22, from Nepal emerged the winner of a return air trip to his home country. Following the match, all the 120 lucky winners were given the opportunity to meet in person the Pakistan national cricket captain Sarfraz Ahmed, who also leads the Bengal Tigers team.
Speaking on his stroke of luck, Banjade said: “Watching the game and then meeting Sarfraz is a dream come true but going home to be united for a few days with my family is even more precious, it’s a blessing. However, I would like to highlight the health drive hosted by Foundation Holdings, which I found to be very helpful and interesting. I will make sure that I take the advice given and attend other such events. It’s the first time I feel that someone actually cares.”
