Dubai, June 21, 2016: Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the UAE’s locally based dairy producer, Al Rawabi Diary Company, today announced joining hands to enhance public health by promoting healthy and nutritious food.
In a statement, Al Rawabi said it will play a significantly supportive role in all of DHA’s programmes to promote healthy and nutritious food in Dubai as part of its commitment to the society and public health.
Emphasizing the importance of the national food industry, H.E E Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the board and Director General of DHA said that it is the duty and responsibility of all companies in the food industry to commit to the upkeep of public health in line with global standards.
He further said that the DHA gives importance to healthy food and has recently opened a department Clinical Nutritional Department, which is present in every hospital under the authority promoting healthy and nutritious food for disease prevention.
H.E Al Qutami stressed that it is important for DHA and food companies to partner and build bridges of cooperation to maintain community health and food safety.
Mr. Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman, Al Rawabi Dairy Company, said: “As a local diary and food company, we have a commitment to promote healthy, safe and nutritious food. In a meeting between DHA officials and Al Rawabi, the former said that it has kept all its channels open for public and private sector food companies to join the authority in promoting public health and particularly for the initiative of creating awareness on healthy, safe and nutritious food.

Appreciating DHA’s approach of keeping its doors open for public and private sector companies to partner with it in its cause-oriented health programmes, Dr. Ahmed El Tigani, CEO of Al Rawabi said that this strategy of the authority was in alignment with the corporate philosophy of the company.
