Signify, Right Health Collaborate to Create Better Healing Environment for Patients

Partnership aims to improve patient experience, employee performance through optimal lighting of healthcare facilities
Collaboration invests in people’s health and well-being in line with Year of Zayed

Dubai-UAE: 2 July, 2018 – Right Health, the UAE’s largest and fastest-growing value healthcare organization, backed by Foundation Holdings, has partnered with Signify (formerly Philips Lighting), the world leader in lighting, with the aim of creating a healing environment for patients at its healthcare facilities. In line with Dubai’s Happiness Agenda, the move seeks to enhance the patient experience and overall employee satisfaction.

Goktug Gur, President and CEO for the Middle East, Turkey and Pakistan at Signify, and Karan Yadav, Chief Strategy Officer at Foundation Holdings, representing Right Health, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) outlining the terms of the collaboration.

In the initial phase, 23 Right Health facilities will be fully fitted with Signify LED lighting. The collaboration seeks to boost medical performance through providing optimal lighting conditions for doctors and nurses while creating a healing environment to alleviate tension and increase patients’ receptiveness towards treatment. The right lighting can transform high-anxiety areas into calm spaces that reduce stress levels, leading to better health outcomes. In 2016, the University of Minessota Masonic Children’s Hospital installed Philips Lighting’s (now Signify) adjustable LED lights that mimicked sunlight in order to improve patients’ sleep patterns and help them relax.

Goktug Gur said: ”Signify leads in lighting the world to help ensure a better and more sustainable future. The company has joined forces with Right Health to support Dubai’s Happiness Agenda and the government’s strategic objective of reducing energy consumption. Through this collaboration, we aim to achieve the highest level of energy efficiency, and brighten lives with quality lighting to enhance people’s well-being, safety and productivity.”

For his part, Karan Yadav said: “Right Health focuses on making affordable and quality healthcare easily accessible to blue-collar workers in the UAE. When people visit the doctor, they are already anxious about their appointments and procedures. We have noticed that the conventional harsh lighting can aggravate that stress and prolong the recovery time. In partnership with Signify, we seek to create a calming ambience for our patients and enable their faster recovery. Our collaboration aligns with the goal of the Year of Zayed to invest in people’s health and well-being.”

Right Health currently serves around 450,000 patients, making it the largest value healthcare player focusing on the blue-collar segment in the country. Aiming to impact one million lives by 2022, the company supports the objective of the National Agenda of the UAE Vision 2021 to establish a world-class healthcare system for the people of the UAE.
