Dubai, United Arab Emirates: In collaboration with Dubai Sports Council and CRANK Fitness, Ski Dubai announced the winners of the inaugural edition of Snow Duathlon, which took place today. The unique event saw 209 athletes aged 13-60 from 49 nationalities, including 35 Emiratis, making history in the event that combines running and stationary cycling in sub-zero conditions.
Michala Radomska triumphed in the Women’s Elite Category after cycling 5km and running five laps of in 0:36.68, while Hallvard Borsheim came out on top in the Men’s Elite Category with a finish time of 0:27:82. Kalthoum Al Maazmi was the overall winner of the Women’s Individual Category with an impressive time of 0:30:73, and Omran Shkair won the Men’s Individual Category 3km in 0:22:56. In the Team’s category, Comando Group took the top spot with an average time of 0:19.63.
Close on the heels of the most successful DXB Snow Run to date, Snow Duathlon is the newest addition to Ski Dubai, Dubai Sports Council, and CRANK Fitness’ expanding list of innovative fitness initiatives aimed at promoting an active lifestyle during the summer. Stay tuned for the 16th edition of the Ice Warrior Challenge, a popular endurance test, taking place later this year in September.
