Marking International Women’s Day on March 8, Sharjah Ladies Run (SLR) symbolises a call for change, to celebrate acts of courage and determination in women. It’s a time to celebrate all woman, who have played a significant role in the history of their countries and communities. Their motto through this fitness race, is to generate awareness among women to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
To make Sharjah Ladies Run (SLR) even more exciting and memorable affair, organisers, Sharjah Ladies Club (SLC) have announced an incredible line-up of associated health-and-fitness-themed activities, which will be happening on the sidelines of the main event.
Most of SLC’s premier facilities – Orchid Beauty Boutique (OBB), Fitness 180, Dalouk Wellness Spa, Collage Talent Center and the Sports complex – will be coming together to impress upon the run’s participants and visitors the important message of prioritising one’s health and fitness, in attractive and fun ways. From free fitness assessments to expert personal training consultations, and more, the SLC staff will be there to share expert advice on the do’s and don’ts of a healthy lifestyle.
What’s more, SLC will be offering exclusive discounts only on the day of the run for some of their most sought after salon and spa services, beach access, and other leisure attractions.
In collaboration with Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP), OBB will organize a hair donation activity where women can come and donate their hair for cancer patients. SLC has also pledged a part of the event’s proceeds to the UAE cancer non-profit Friends Of of Cancer Patients (FOCP) to help boost their efforts in raising cancer awareness in the nation, and to supplement the comprehensive free treatment initiatives offers to cancer patients.
Khawla Al Serkal, Director General of Sharjah Ladies Club said, “The Sharjah Ladies Run is organised to inspire more women and girls to come together to have fun and renew their commitment to healthy life. The annual event is designed to bring together women from different nationalities for an evening full of sports and entertainment, offering participants a vibrant platform to network and collectively promote a message of healthy lifestyles”.

In addition to the event, attendees will enjoy a verity of activities and entertainment shows. A string of food kiosks will be serving healthy snacks and refreshing beverages to participants and their friends.
