A range of events and sporting activities were hosted yesterday (Wednesday) by the Fitness and Athletics departments at NYU Abu Dhabi for the occasion of UAE National Sports Day.
The community came together on around the high-line on campus for a community walk to promote sports and physical activity in recognition of the nation-wide event. Students, faculty, and staff participated in the walk and wore t-shirts in one of the four colors of the UAE flag.
Additional activities were hosted by various facilities across the University’s Saadiyat Island campus throughout the day, including indoor cycling,, meditation, kettlebell lifting and barre.
Two Abu Dhabi Inter-University Sports League finals in basketball and football were also held on campus during the evening, featuring the participation of NYU Abu Dhabi, the American University in Dubai, Abu Dhabi University and Khawarizmi International College.
