HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, today visited the 29th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF), organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) from 24 – 30 April and held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan visited the different pavilions, accompanied by HE Navdeep Suri, India’s Ambassador to the UAE, as India is this year’s official Guest ofHonour at ADIBF.
HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan also visited the Indian Pavilion to view the variety of literature, cultural and art activities on display, which detail the mutual history that India shares with other countries in the Middle East, as well as the country’s contributions to Arab culture.
During his tour, HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan was briefed on the details of Emirati, Arab and international participants, highlighting the diverse range of organisations, publishers and authors who have chosen to visit the capital for this year’s ADIBF. HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan also saw first-hand the work that DCT Abu Dhabi has undertaken to enhance the cultural scene in the emirate, improve access to knowledge and ensure reading becomes a daily habit for the general population.
