130 Ballet Centre students to take stage on Friday the 19th of January 2018 at DUCTAC theatre
Dubai, 19th December 2017 – On Friday the 19th of January 2018, 130 ballet centre students from 7yrs till 20yrs will take the stage combining Ballet, Tap & Modern dance. The Ballet Centre prepares to dazzle Dubai audiences with its production of“Alice in Wonderland”, conceptualized by a highly qualified team of teachers who truly believe that this theme will capture young minds and relate a story with the beauty of Classical Ballet.
Mangalika Jayalath – The Managing Director of the Ballet Centre, says “Alice in wonderland will be a dance show with a purpose. This show aims to donate the proceeds to cancer research; a disease that has affected the ballet Centre very closely. The founder of the Ballet Centre Terry Dean lost her battle to the disease in 2000 and in February 2016 I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, I fought hard and survived thanks to special people who supported me through the health crisis of my life; including Rashid Hospital, City Hospital, Ballet Centre Staff, my loving family & family friends Mr. Billal, Mr. Mohammad Behrooziyan, Karen Monkhouse (Ballet Centre Manager), Packeerally Family, Kumari Wasana Family and all friends who helped me in different ways and now I would like to give back that support!”
Alice in wonderland is the Ballet Centre’s biennial production that displays the talent of amazing young dancers in a world class Ballet production. This event would mark the 3rd successful production by the Ballet Centre since 2011 and this year the proceeds will be donated to Breast Friends, Al Jalila Foundation for cancer research.
