Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre (JRCC) has announced the launch of two awards as part of ‘Azyan’ Exhibition & Conference, which is the first-of-its-kind beauty, fashion, and wellness event in Sharjah. The inaugural event is set to run between April 18 -21, and aims to identify and celebrate the best fashion designers, hairstylists and makeup artists within the UAE, and recognise their exceptional talents.
Fashion designers can register and participate in ‘Azyan Fashion Awards’ which consists of three categories: ‘Best Casual Ready-To-Wear Collection’, ‘Best Evening Abayas Collection’, and ‘Best Travel Wear Collection’. Meanwhile, makeup artists and hair stylists can participate in ‘Azyan Beauty Awards’ which has the following categories: ‘Best Evening Hairstyle’ and ‘Best Evening Make-up Look’ categories.
Participants in ‘Azyan Fashion Awards’ must submit 6 pieces for any category, however only 3 pieces will be showcased if the participant is shortlisted. Designs participating in the ‘Best Evening Abayas Collection’ and ‘Best Travel Wear Collection’ must include ‘Sheila’ (headpiece.) Moreover, entries for the latter category must be trendy and stylish fashion outfits, that are comfortable and easy to wear, perfect for active travellers.
Those interested in competing in the ‘Azyan Beauty Awards’ category, that has an award for ‘Best Evening Hairstyle’, need to adhere to the following regulations: hair cannot be colored or cut, use of razor or any texturing shears is permitted, hair ornaments used must be incorporated into and flow with the design and must not cover more than 30% of the hair.
For entries in the ‘Best Evening Makeup Look’, the final appearance, must be creative, elegant, timeless, spotless and should complement any facial features. Final makeup must complement the pre-prepared hairstyle of the model.

The inaugural edition of ‘Azyan’ Exhibition & Conference brings together the world’s leading brands in beauty, fashion and health. The 4-day event includes a series of workshops and seminars with the participation of leading experts in beauty, wellness and fashion, aimed at exchanging expertise and knowledge and to put forth new ideas, that will ensure the sustainability and development of these vital sectors.
After the ceremonious inauguration of the exhibition on day one, the event will focus on one theme each day, which will include beauty, fashion and wellbeing. This in turn, will enable visitors to immerse in the latest inventions and trends of the sector, attend seminars and workshops featuring renowned experts in the field.
The winner in each category will receive AED6,000 and special prizes.
