Dubai Government Workshop (DGW), in collaboration with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), successfully organized a series of events held in commemoration of World Health Day. The event, which was held at the DGW Headquarters, falls in line with the workshop’s commitment towards community responsibility and the move to increase awareness and promote good health across its employees. The initiative also aimed towards promoting best health practices like healthy nutrition, abstinence from smoking and physical fitness.
H.E. Fahad Ahmed Al Raeesi, Deputy CEO of DGW, said, “Our keenness towards celebrating World Health Day demonstrates our commitment to increase awareness and promote the benefits and advantages of good health to our employees, which is considered a top priority that we strive to strengthen and maintain. World Health Day is a global event that throws the spotlight on important health-related issues and how we can address these challenges. We equally remain steadfast in launching initiatives and programs that have been designed to raise health awareness and promote a healthy lifestyle, which in turn, can result in further enhancing employee productivity.”
Al Raeesi added, “We are pleased to organize the event in collaboration with the DHA, which is a leading entity in spreading community awareness in Dubai on the importance of maintaining health and providing the highest standards of health care for everyone in order to have a healthy life and achieve happiness. We are committed to working with all stakeholders in the emirate as part of our ongoing pursuit to apply global best practices in occupational health and safety and adopting them throughout the workshop.”
Events held at the DGW Headquarters included a medical examination station for sugar testing, blood pressure monitoring, a proper feeding station, a smoking cessation station, two stations for skin and medical consultations, a bone and eye osteoporosis station and an ophthalmology and health education station for musculoskeletal disorders.
The event also featured a Happiness Station, which was held to further motivate employees and spread positive energy in the work environment.
