Get Active This Weekend at Yas Fitness & Wellbeing Festival

The Capital’s largest FREE fitness festival takes place at Gateway Park South, Yas Island this Friday and Saturday from 9am to 7pm each day. Join in non-stop fitness classes, outdoor adventure challenges, wellbeing workshops and exclusive classes with world-class fitness ex-perts all for free this weekend. The full schedule of classes is available at www.fitfest.ae, where you can register for free passes to the event and plan an active weekend of fun with family and friends.

Whether you are a beginner, looking for family-friendly classes or you are an avid gym go-er, you’ll find something for everyone to enjoy. The non-stop fitness classes include HITT Workout, Hula Hopping, Fit Cross, Zumba, Crossfit, Aerobics, Sh’bam or BodyJam, BodyPump, BodyCombat and BodyAttack or you can workout at the 800 Sports Outdoor Gym or take part in a spinning class for a super intense fitness fix.

My First Gym will host a pop-up gym just for kids including slides, balance beams, gymnastics area, parallel bars and play mats. Abu Dhabi Cricket will be hosting a large cricket pitch for boys and girls to try out the sport and pick up tips and tricks from the experts. Kids will also be entertained with specially created Zumba classes with fun kid friendly routines and they will also be able to reach new heights as they test their nerve on the climbing wall.

There are free workshops and motivational talks from Yas Fitness & Wellbeing Festival am-bassadors: fitness professional Simon Pepper, personal trainer Ashraf Odeh; mindfulness and happiness coach Zhuldyz Koshpanova; holistic, yoga, fitness and health instructors Jelena Pe-telinkar and Steph Mulet who will all be providing expert fitness, wellbeing and health advice all weekend.

The dedicated Yoga Zone will have back-to-back classes, talks and meditation sessions from 9 am to 7pm each day. Abu Dhabi Ladies Club will be hosting ladies only classes each morning at 9am, and 10am. On Friday at 11am Jelena Petelinkar will host a Vinyasa Flow class, followed by a meditation session by Zhuldik Kosh and at 1pm Stephanie Mulet will take a masterclass on Yoga for core strength. On Saturday Stephanie returns for another masterclass at 11am, and Jelena will host her class at 3.30pm. Don’t forget to bring your yoga mat, sweat towel and water bottle.

For adventure sports enthusiasts, you’ll be able to test your agility on the Bootcamp inflata-ble obstacle course as you pass through hurdles, jump through hoops and negotiate slides against other competitors trying to complete the challenge. If you’re a boxing or MMA fan, then join Primal Gym in the boxing ring and get your heart rate going.

To recover between classes the Relaxation Zone by Heavenly Spa from the Westin will be giving free massages and you can take part in the Slim n Lite Healthy Cooking Challenge serving up quick and healthy recipes including Spinach & Goat Cheese Omelette with super-food kale salad, Quinoa Rizo Salad and Raspberry Mango Mousse. There will also be plenty of food trucks on hand to refuel yourself before your next activity and you can shop at over 50 health, wellbeing and fitness stalls throughout the festival.
