VPS Healthcare, UAE-based healthcare conglomerate with operations in UAE, Oman and India, has appointed Dr. Mohamad Yaman as CEO of Burjeel Medical City (BMC), the healthcare group’s newest development. Dr. Yaman will spearhead the strategic planning and vision of the new facility, ensuring the highest level of excellence in delivery of healthcare services, and management of BMC’s financial affairs.

With Dr. Yaman’s support, BMC will focus on efficient and sustainable care across various aspects of the nation’s healthcare delivery system.”
Dr. Yaman joins BMC after more than 20 years of extensive medical and administrative expertise in the GCC region. His medical experience includes more than 25 years of senior consultancy roles and performing thoracic surgeries in University of Toronto, Canada, and UAE. Before joining VPS Healthcare, he held the title of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Tawam Oncology Center, followed by CMO of Mafraq Hospital’s Trauma Center. His most recent position was Chief of Staff at SEHA Corporate, followed by CMO & Commissioning Team member at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, under the umbrella of Abu Dhabi Health Services (SEHA).
Commenting on his new position, Dr. Yaman said: “I am delighted to join VPS Healthcare’s team of experts as CEO of Burjeel Medical City. Additionally, Dr. Yaman has acquired various awards such as SEHA’s Best Chief Medical Officer in 2010 and 2012. He is currently a member of many medical affiliations, including the American College of Surgeons, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Royal College of surgeons Canada and General Thoracic club of North America.
Dr. Yaman will join BMC as it plays a vital role in fulfilling the increasing healthcare needs for local and international patients. The tertiary care facility will be located in the heart of Mohamed Bin Zayed City, spanning across 1.2 million sq. ft of land area with 406 beds, 88 clinical rooms, 12 operation theatres. BMC will also have a helipad for airborne patient transportation, in addition to other state-of-the-art clinical and surgical resources.
VPS Healthcare is preparing to participate in this year’s edition of Arab Health, where it will showcase its offerings and recent developments. BMC’S CEO, Dr. Yaman, will be available at the stand to answer questions regarding the new facility and its services. During the exhibition, VPS Healthcare’s stand will be located at H5/C20.
