- 30 Volunteer Events and Initiatives Including Early Screening Clinics for Cardiac and Chronic Diseases.
Abu Dhabi, UAE: The Zayed Humanitarian Ramadan Convoys have officially launched from the capital, Abu Dhabi, to various emirates across the UAE and to several brotherly and friendly countries under the slogan “Loyalty, Belonging, and Giving.” The initiative is launched by Emirati Doctors and managed by the UAE National Program for Medical Readiness and Response “Jaheziya,” in partnership with the UAE Community and Specialized Volunteer Program and the UAE Humanitarian Work Program.
The convoys bring together a wide network of volunteers and community institutions in a national and humanitarian initiative aimed at strengthening national spirit, reinforcing the culture of volunteerism, and promoting community and humanitarian giving, in alignment with the Year of the Family initiatives.
The convoys seek to attract, train, and empower youth to actively participate in health and educational programs through the operation of mobile clinics, field hospitals, and fully equipped medical buses. These efforts are carried out within a structured volunteer framework and a sustainable humanitarian umbrella that contributes to raising health awareness and improving quality of life.
The Zayed Humanitarian Ramadan Convoys build upon the legacy of the Zayed Giving Initiative, which was launched in 2000 and, over the past 26 years, has delivered its humanitarian message to millions both locally and internationally. Originating from the United Arab Emirates and extending to countries around the world, the initiative embodies the humanitarian vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and reinforces the deeply rooted values of generosity and compassion that define the nation’s journey.
Dr. Adel Al Shammari, Emirati cardiac surgeon, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, Head of UAE Doctors, and President of the UAE National Program for Medical Readiness and Response, emphasized that humanitarian work in the UAE represents a sustainable institutional approach fully supported by the nation’s wise leadership. He noted that the Zayed Convoys aim to strengthen volunteer culture and activate partnerships between the public and private sectors to implement Ramadan-based health and educational initiatives that raise community awareness about major diseases and preventive measures.

He added that throughout the holy month of Ramadan, the convoys will implement more than 30 diverse volunteer events and initiatives. These include early screening clinics for cardiac and chronic diseases, medical and nutritional consultations, awareness programs on healthy behaviors during fasting, first aid and CPR training workshops, visits to senior citizens and People of Determination, as well as awareness programs in schools, residential and labor communities. Additionally, a series of volunteer forums and humanitarian seminars will be organized to reinforce the culture of volunteerism and empower youth to serve their community and give back to the nation.
Dr. Latifa Al Khouri, Consultant Cardiologist and member of the Young Humanitarian Leaders Program, stated that the convoys will focus on promoting healthy behaviors during Ramadan by raising awareness about proper nutrition, safe physical activity, dietary moderation, stress management, and disease prevention—contributing to the development of a healthy and informed society.
She further confirmed that the Zayed Humanitarian Convoys will tour all seven emirates, with particular focus on senior citizen centers, People of Determination facilities, residential and labor communities, and government institutions, reflecting the UAE’s pioneering model of volunteerism and humanitarian outreach.
She commended the efforts of the Zayed Giving Initiative in successfully launching the 2026 convoys, noting that the strong community engagement reflects the deeply rooted culture of giving within Emirati society and the commitment of various institutions to supporting national initiatives that advance health, education, and humanitarian work.
The initiative concluded by reaffirming that the Zayed Humanitarian Convoys represent a message of love and generosity from the UAE to the world, transforming the values of loyalty and belonging into practical initiatives with a sustainable impact on individuals and communities alike.
