UAE, January 14, 2016 – Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Health, accompanied by H.E. Dr. Yousef Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for the Ministry’s Hospitals Sector, recently visited Al Hamriya Health Centre in Sharjah and Julphar Health Centre in Ras Al Khaimah. The tour was conducted to inspect the functioning of the healthcare facilities, their departments, and various services offered by them to patients.
During their visit to Ras Al Khaimah, the Undersecretary and the Assistant Undersecretary were received by Heba Al Shehhi, Director of Julphar Health Centre. She accompanied them to different sections of the centre where they checked the performance of the medical, technical and administrative staff in the provision of healthcare services to patients.
H.E. Dr. Al Olama said that the federal government works in accordance with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. He added that the provision of world-class healthcare services is among the top priorities of the health strategy. This also comes within the framework of the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to provide outstanding healthcare services at par with the best international standards to the UAE population, including citizens and residents.
The Undersecretary applauded the Julphar Heath Centre which now boasts of modern equipment, including radiology devices, more dental chairs, a sterilised chemical laboratory, and more technical and nursing staff. He also commended the Centre’s provision of home care service for the elderly along with paediatrics and gynaecological departments. He further said that a modern healthcare centre consists of skilled, trained and experienced human resources as well as an innovative infrastructure of medical facilities and devices.
Julphar Health Centre serves the medical needs of 10,000 people in the areas of Julphar, Al Golan, Shaabiyat Rashid, and Al Sharisha and eases the burden of the health centres in Al Maamoura and Rams.
H.E. Dr. Al Olama and H.E. Dr. Al Serkal also visited Al Hamriya Health Centre in Sharjah to check the performance of its medical services. The Undersecretary commended its diagnostic and therapeutic services that are at par with the highest international standards. He said that it is within the operational framework of the Ministry to offer rehabilitation services to patients.
H.E. Dr. Al Olama said that all equipment in the centre will be updated and modernised as per the latest technologies and the laboratory will be provided with all necessary equipment to operate according to the approved international standards. He also noted that the Ministry seeks to achieve job satisfaction along with customer satisfaction, a goal which requires the cooperation of medical, technical and administrative staff. He added that mutual coordination is required from everyone to ease the pressure on some health centres and hospitals that are visited by a large number of patients.
Lastly, the Undersecretary praised the efficiency of the medical, technical and administrative staff and the quality of the healthcare services, including the treatment of common and chronic diseases, early detection of tumours, laboratory and radiology tests, and the registration and issuance of health cards.
Mariam Jumaa, Director of Al Hamriya Health Centre, pointed out that the centre also offers promotional services through health education as well as preventive services that follow-up on the well-being of children and their vaccinations and immunization against infectious diseases.
